The People’s Democratic Party in the latest move to contest the result of the July 14th, 2018 Governorship election in Ekiti State, released a statement accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC of foul play on the final outcome of that election.
The ruling party in the state alleged that the Electoral Umpire doctored the results of the governorship election in favour of the opposition and Governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and his Political party, the All Progressive Congress.
This latest allegation is coming after the outgoing Governor Mr. Ayo Fayose in his earlier statement had expressed the same views as that of his party at the national level, but the Governor in his argument, went further to state that he is ready to challenge the outcome of the election in court.
He said he does not lose battles and will not accept the result, as he is ready to challenge the case to the highest court of the land.
In a statement released by the party’s National Publicity Secretary Mr. Kola Ologbodinya, he said:
“Ekiti Guber: Peoples Democratic Party National Working Committee Gets Hard Facts, Reconfirms That Independent National Electoral Commission Doctored Results. The National Working Committee of the PDP in a crucial meeting Tuesday night received and reviewed all facts relating to the July 14, 2018 Ekiti state governorship election.
The NWC also has evidence indicating that the original result was in favour of the PDP candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola-Eleka before the figures were altered.
Apart from the huge discrepancies between the actual votes cast at the polling centres and the results released by INEC, there are evidence that INEC pulled down the original result from its data base to accommodate the alterations All Progressive Congress.
After a thorough examination of all hard facts the NWC reconfirms that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) doctored the result of the election to favour the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari
