Some Senators of the Peoples Democratic Party have met with the deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu at his Abuja residence.

The Senators called president Muhammadu Buhari to defend democracy, describing what happened as an intimidation to the Senate, and an attempt to overturn Nigeria’s independence.

While speaking to the press, Senator Ekweremadu thanked his colleagues for coming, and Nigerians for their concern, saying Nigerians will defend democracy and dictatorship will not be allowed.
He also said that the Policemen that were laying siege refused entry to anyone and as soon they left, that was when he started receiving visitors.
