The news just reaching us now, suggest that Veteran and legendary Reggae musician Ukeleke Onwubuya popularly known as Ras Kimono has died at the age of 60.
The Reggae Artiste who was part of those that revolutionalized Reggae music in Africa alongside the likes of late Lucky Dube of South Africa in the late 80s and early 90’s.
He was said to have plans to travel out of the country (United State) last night, suddenly complained about not feeling too well before he was rushed to an unnamed Hospital in Ikeja, then later transferred to Lagoon Hospital Lagos where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.
Ras Kimono during his lifetime, was an activist, fighting for the poor through his music and all his songs reflect this.
Some of his hits songs that are still evergreen are: Under pressure, Whats gwan, Babylon burning, Break the barrier and Rumour mongers and many more.
