The Peoples Democratic Party has commended the leadership and members of the National Assembly on their vote of no confidence passed on President Buhari, saying the move has further vindicated them.

PDP which is the major opposition party released a press statement on the resolution, saying it was time the executive highhandedness was checked before it gets out of hand.

Though the PDP are the minority in both houses of Assembly, the party seems to be having its way in both houses, and the latest move by the National Assembly is one of such signs that they are in charge, with few help from the All Progressives Congress members.

The press statement as released by Kola Ologbondiyan few hours ago said:

The resolutions of the joint session of the National Assembly  against President Muhammadu Buhari’s Presidency is a vindication of our earlier stance on the Buhari administration

We commend the members of the National Assembly  for their patriotism and courage in unanimously standing up for democracy, rule of law, national stability and cohesion at this trying time.

Nigerians would recall that the PDP had consistently pointed out the misrule of the Muhammadu Buhari presidency, as well as the unrelenting violations of our constitution, unprecedented executive highhandedness, abuse of the rights of citizens and the erosion of all known democratic norms
