The Super Falcons of Nigeria have been crowned African Women Champions for the 9th time, after beating South Africa on penalties.
The now African women Champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria did not showcase their best performance, as the girls played so poorly, but at the end of the day, it was their experience that counted for them, and it was enough for them to carry the day.
Also, the South Africans were not bad, as they showed so much confidence (getting the needed boost from their first meeting which they won) but could not make the Nigerians pay, as they showed so much respect to the Super Falcons.
After 120minutes of play, it was the Nigerian team again that came out triumphant, taking home the African Women crown for the 9th time, out of the total number of the 11th time that the tournament has been hosted.
The Super Falcons are now African Women Champions and will be going to the world cup in France as Champions. See the record number of times they have won it:
