The Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has come in the defence of his colleague, Senator Dino Melaye, saying the treatment being g meted out by the Presidency and APC led government on the Senator, is uncalled for and undemocratic.
The Senator who explained this on his social media page called the arrest of Senator Dino Melaye by the Nigerian Police and his subsequent admission at the Hospital as inhumane, and should not be happening in a democratic setting. The Senator wonders if same was done by previous government when the APC were in opposition what would have happened.
His statement is coming after it was alleged the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye jumped off a moving Police Van as he was being driven to Lokoja Kogi State where he is wanted by the police for questioning. The Senator called it high handiness saying if the former administration and PDP where this brutal, the APC now would not have existed.

Taking to his social media, he said:
You may think what is happening to Senator Dino Melaye is just his business, but think deep about this. If a Senator can be treated like this, who then can be spared? Opposition is good for democracy and if the PDP had been this brutal, I wonder where the APC would have been.
…my question still remains: Why did Senator Dino Melaye jump off a moving van as it is been alleged. Also, most of the Senators have been mute on the whole situation, that makes you wonder if there more to the whole story that meets the eyes…hmmm…juicy juicy! I cannot wait to see how this Nollywood movie plays out at the end…
