Chief Femi Fani-Kayode and Peoples Democratic Party seem to be catching cold feet at the prospect of a former Governor of Edo State Mr Adams Oshiomole becoming the next National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress at the upcoming convention of the party.
While Femi Fani-Kayode is not the spokesperson for Peoples Democratic Party, he is a party member, expressing his personal views on the possibility of Oshiomole becoming a Party chairman of the ruling party, and what that could mean for both major political parties in Nigeria, going to the 2019 General elections.
He fears the former governor who was one time the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress would pose a serious threat to PDP, saying Oshiomole is no soft touch like he perceived the present APC National Chairman John Oyegun to be, saying he is a formidable and dangerous adversary. Taking to his Twitter handle, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode said:
I sincerely hope that my colleagues in the opposition will appreciate the implications if Adams Oshiomole is elected Nat. Chairman of APC at their coming convention.Unlike John Oyegun, Oshiomole is no soft touch.I know him well: he is a formidable and dangerous adversary.
Though nothing has been said as to who is likely to take over from Chief John Oyegun Odigie as APC National Chairman, or whether he is going to get an extension to his tenure in the coming convention. But the one name that has been flying around amongst party members and ordinary Nigerians alike as the likely next chairman of the party is the name of the former governor of Edo state, and in a way, the man that is well loved by many Nigerians, especially civil servants, Mr Adams Oshiomole.
Mr Oshiomole has not said if he was going to run or has any intention of, but it is going to be a big battle between the governors of APC and those Representatives in the National Assembly, and not to forget President Buhari and National Leader, Senator Bola Tinubu, if Oshiomole decides or is picked as the next party chairman…
