PHOTO: Alleged Aiding Of ‘Killer Herdsmen’: Nigerian Army Set To Probe General TY Danjuma’s Allegation

Image: Nigerian Army set up committee on Allegations

The Nigeria Army is now set to investigate the allegations made against some of its unnamed personnel in the Nigeria Army about compromising in the fight against criminal elements in the country, especially in the fight against ‘Killer Herdsmen’ in and around the North Central Zone and in the country at large. This move came after one of its own, and a retired General and former Chief of Army Staff, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma accused the force of aiding the killer herdsmen, while they slaughter innocent Nigerians.

The former Chief of Army Staff and Minister of Defence, General Theophilus  Yakubu Danjuma, raised the alarm at some time last month in Taraba State University where he commissioned some projects. When commenting on the security situation in the country, he said that there was an attempt at ethnic cleansing in the country and asked Nigerians to rise up to resist it. Though the statement did come with its backlash, the Nigerian Military is not leaving any stone unturned as they have vowed to take adequate steps at looking into the allegations.

The Military who are no taking the allegations likely have promised to bring to book any officer or group of officers found wanting, as it has since set up a committee to look into the allegations with the hope of reinstalling back the confidence Nigerians have on the Nigerian Military. The Statement on their social media handle reads:

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen TY Buratai inaugurates a committee to investigate allegations leveled against it’s personnel in the ongoing Exercise Ayem Akpatuma
