Police denies reports of 167 missing policemen on Boko Haram frontline

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, Mr Jimoh Moshood has refuted claims of ongoing Police protest in Maiduguri, saying there is no such thing happening, as only the information they have is that some officers only went to the headquarters in Maiduguri for a mere enquiry as relating to their allowance.
The PPRO who appeared on a programme on NTA said the information circulating on social media platforms are false and nothing close to the truth. But he acknowledges though salaries are being paid, there are some officers especially the Police Mobile Unit popularly known as MOPOL are yet to receive their allowance and only have gone to make an enquiry on that.

According to the information put up on their social media page, the police while refuting the claim said:

“Live on NTA News 24, Force Public Relations Officer, Ag. DCP JIMOH Moshood clears that No Policeman protested in Borno or anywhere in the country. Salary is being paid as at when due but some PMF personnel in Maiduguri only went to make enquiry on their allowances”.
