The Champions League game last night between Chelsea and Barcelona ended in a 1-1 draw. A result that was never a surprise to many, given both teams previous results in the Champions League. But history was made last night, both from the side of Chelsea and Barcelona, as Willian and Messi stole the show at the Stamford Bridge.

Messi who before the game, had never scored a goal against Chelsea, finally broke the jinx as his 75th minute goal gave the Spanish side the all needed a way goal to level the game at 1-1 each. This came after Willian had put the host in the lead, after he had hit the woodwork twice, only to score on his third attempt.

The game had everything, and aside Messi and Willian making history, the game shows Chelsea and Barcelona tiers is becoming one of Football’s Champions League rivalry, as records over the years shows the ties are always a difficult one for both teams.
