Seedorf and Kluivert are now set to under take their first challenge as the National team coach and assistant coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroun, as they train together for the first time.
Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert were a few weeks back appointment by the Football Federation of Cameroun as Coaches, as the central African Country are looking to revive their dwindling football tradition.
The two Dutch Nationals have been seen by the Football Federation as the perfect fit for the Cameroonian football. It will be the first time Cameroun will be having such calibre of coaches in their National team.
The first test for the Seedorf will be the Nations Cup qualifiers, which is the number one competition in Africa, and which Cameroun are one of the few countries that have won the competition multiple times.
While speaking on his experience so far, Seedorf said:
The journey towards next year’s Africa Cup of Nations has finally begun after the first week spent together with players and staff! I am looking forward to the first home match next month vs Malawi in front of our fans in Cameroon. Cameroun are topping their group standing, from two games with 4points.
Cameroun are in Group B that has the likes of Morocco, Malawi, and Comoros, as they look to return to the top of the ranking of African football.
The next stop for the Camerounian side is Malawi and Coach Seedorf and his Assistant Patrick Kluivert will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run when they face the Southern African side.
The Dutch men also have the support and backing of football legend, Samuel Eto who welcomed them the first day they were appointed, as he has urged them to bring back the good old days of Camerounian football.
