566 New Cases Of COVID-19 Confirmed By NCDC

A total of 566 new COVID-19 cases have been reported and confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday.

The NCDC in their daily update of the spread of the coronavirus in Nigeria, on Thursday 5th August 2021, on their official social media handle, reported that a total of 566 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed across some states in the country.

This latest figure comes just a day after the agency confirmed that a total of 747 new cases being the highest so far, were recorded in the country on Wednesday. This brings the total number recorded in the last two days to 1313 new cases.

From the 566 new cases recorded, the NCDC also confirmed that a total of 11 persons have died from the virus, as at this date.

To date, a total of 176,577 cases have been confirmed, with 165,323 cases being the number of those already discharged and 2,178 deaths recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The 566 new COVID-19 cases were reported from 12 states, and the distribution shows:
