The immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Honourable Yakubu Dogara, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar are mourning the death of Alhaji Umar Pariya, who was until his death, the personal aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

The cause of death was not revealed, but Pariya was said to have died in Dubai, where Atiku himself has been staying since April. He was also said to be on life-support for about two weeks before he died.

Leading the condolence, was Honourable Yakubu Dogara, who on Tuesday 19th November 2019 took to his official twitter handle to condole with the families of Umar Pariya and that of Atiku Abubakar over their loss.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Dogara had this to say about the death of the man he described as exceptionally gifted and loyal. He said:

I received with shock the sad news of the sudden death of Alhaji Umar Pariya was an exceptionally gifted and energetic man who pursued with courage; causes that were larger than himself. Humility was his trademark and loyalty his seal.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family & pray God to grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul rest in perfect peace. I also specially condole with our leader, His Excellency former Vice President, Alhaji
@atiku, Wazirin Adamawa

Undoubtedly, you have lost a loyal, hardworking and committed associate who stood by and with you in all circumstances. May God comfort you and fill the huge vacuum created by Alhaji Pariya’s demise” he said.

Atiku on his part, confirmed the sad news as he shared a condolence message on his official twitter handle, saying:

Umar Pariya was much more than a longstanding aide to me; he was incredibly loyal and qualified as a member of my family. He will be missed. May Allah comfort his family, forgive his sins and grant him AlJannah Firdaus. Ameen.”

APC national leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who is a close friend to Atiku, also shared his condolence to Atiku Abubakar on the sad news. He said:

My condolences to Vice President Atiku Abubakar over the loss. May VP Atiku, family, friends and associates of the late Pariya find the strength to live through this sudden and untimely demise.

I’m deeply saddened by the death of Umar Pariya. I knew him very well. He was very cerebral. An excellent human being, Umar Pariya had a welcoming and accommodating spirit. May his soul rest in the bosom of the Lord” he said.
