The NotTooYoungToRun agenda seems to be yielding results more than what was initially expected as yet another youth, Hon Danladi Yakubu has been elected as the new Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly.
The election of Hon Danladi Yakubu as the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly is coming a day after a 32-year-old Hon Adebo Ogundoyin from Oyo State was elected Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly barely eight months as a Lawmaker in the Oyo State Assembly.
I am sure there are more, just like the case of Dr Tidi Micheal a graduate from the prestigious University of Ibadan who was elected as the Warri South Local Government Chairman, and one of the youngest in Nigeria. But the most interesting part of it all, is that these young men have all been elected into leadership positions, like Speakership, Chairmen, Deputy Governor and even Commissioners what rarely happen before now (we only had this in the 60’s and during Military regime and early 90’s).
34-Year-old Danladi Yakubu who has been elected Speaker of Kwara State Assembly is representing Ilesha/Gwanara and has since been sworn in, while Hon. Adetiba Olanrewaju representing Oke – Ero Constituency was also unanimously elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly.
