Singer Naira Marley slammed with 11-count charge by EFCC

Popular singer Naira Marley has been slammed with an 11-count charge by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged Internet fraud. The man who was alleged to have been supporting fraud and fraudsters in Nigeria will be arraigned on the 20th of May 2019.

The EFCC had on Friday 10th May 2019 confirmed the arrest of one Afeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) and Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael (aka Zlatan), Gbangbola Street, Ikate, Lekki, Lagos in connection with alleged case of fraud and money laundering.

The Anti-graft agency also alleged that Intelligence report had also linked them to cybercrime offences.

Naira Marley and Zlantan were arrested along with: Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses and Abubakar Musa.

According to EFCC statement, at the point of arrest, the Commission found and recovered a number of items, including laptops, from the suspects.

Naira Marley, Zlatan and three others are said to have so far volunteered useful information about their involvement in the alleged criminal activities, even as investigations continue.

So far, Zlatan has been reported to have been freed after investigation, but EFCC are yet to confirm that. But singer Naira Marley seems to have a long way to getting his freedom with him being charged.
