Guaranty Trust Bank popularly known as GTBank has responded to news that has been going around for a few days now, with respect to a purported Court case involving one Innoson motors and the bank, as the bank released a statement, saying that the said court judgement was against the Nigerian Customs Service Board and not the bank as an entity.

In the statement released by the Bank’s company secretary, one Erhi Obebeduo, the bank denies any legal battles between its branch in Anambra State and Innoson motors, but said the said Garnishee Proceeding was  against the account of the Nigerian Customs Service Board domiciled in the bank and not the Bank as being reported by Innoson Motors.

 

The Bank also said they are taking every legal steps to address the situation, and will resist any attempt to illegally enforce the purported judgment by Innoson motors.

The statement reads:

The attention of Guaranty Trust bank old (the Bnak) has been drawn to statement circulating in the news and social media in respect to a purported of an enforcement of a Federal High court Ibadan Oyo state at one of its branches in Anambra State.

The bank as a law abiding corporate citizen is taking all necessary legal steps to address this situation and ensure that no illegal or fraudulent execution is carried out.

It is important to state that the judgment allegedly in issue is in respect of Garnishee Proceeding against the account of the Nigerian Customs Service Board domiciled with the bank and not against the bank as an entity.

The bank remain committed to providing best-in-class customer experience to all its valued customers.
