Governor Amosun of Ogun State on Monday 17th September 2018 swears in Justice Mosunmola Arinola Dipeolu, as the new Chief Judge of the state.

The event which took place during the state Executive Council meeting, held at the Governor’s office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta was attended by families and friends and also cabinet members of the Governor, saw Justice Dipeolu assuming the office of the chief judge of the state, taking over from yet another female and her predecessor, Justice Olatokunbo Olopade, who recently retired from service.

This makes Justice Dipeolu the second female to be holding that position under Governor Amosun.

Governor Amosun charged her to discharge her duties without fear or favour. He said:

“this swearing in comes with a lot of huge responsibilities and more is demanded of you, knowing the status of Ogun State in the comity of states in Nigeria.”

He assured of the continued non interference in the affairs of the Judiciary, by his government and the next administration.
Responding, Dipeolu thanked God, the governor and her predecessor, for the opportunity given her to serve the state, soliciting the continued support of the government to the Judiciary.
Answering questions from news men, Dipeolu said she would work towards decongesting the prisons in the state and also equip the magistrates for optimal and efficient performance.

Governor Amosun who is facing a serious challenge at reconciling aggrieved party members in the state, on his choice of political candidates for the forthcoming elections is on his final lap of his eight years as Ogun state Governor, as he looks to return to the National Assembly as a lawmaker and continue from where he left off.
