Gisele Bündchen is married for the second time after tying the knot in an under-the-radar ceremony with her fiancé, Joaquim Valente, Daily Mail reports.
The couple wed in a private ceremony held at their home in Surfside, Florida, a marriage license viewed by the Daily Mail confirms.
The license indicates that it was issued on December 1, and Bündchen, 45, and Valente were married two days later on December 3.
Gisele Bündchen and Joaquim — who originally worked as her family’s Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor — were married just over three years after she finalized her divorce from American football icon Tom Brady.
Their wedding comes after Gisele Bündchen — who is currently visiting Brazil — and Valente welcomed their first child together, a baby boy.
A source told Page Six, which first broke the news, that Valente ‘is thrilled they finally tied the knot after having a kid together.’
Bündchen also shares two older children — 16-year-old Benjamin and 13-year-old Vivian — with Brady.
Following her secret wedding, the supermodel returned to Brazil — where she and Valente were born — to attend an event for Vivara jewelry held Thursday in São Paulo.
She notably wore a dress with extra-long sleeves, which completely covered up her left hand and obscured whether she was wearing a wedding ring.
Although Bündchen and Joaquim kept their at-home wedding under wraps, sources claimed to TMZ that it wasn’t completely clandestine, as some family members were reportedly invited.
The future couple were first acquainted in December of 2021, when Bündchen and her children with Brady began studying at the Valente Brothers jiu-jitsu academy.
She was still married to Brady at the time, but the two were beset by rumors of marital strife in the months after the star quarterback decided to end his brief retirement to play a 23rd season in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Then, on October 28, 2022, it was revealed that Bündchen and Brady had filed for divorce and finalized the agreement in the same day, after reportedly working behind the scenes on a settlement leading up to the filing.
By June of the following year, the Brazilian model was reported to be dating her jiu-jitsu instructor.
However, it wasn’t until February of 2024 that the news was confirmed, as the two kept their relationship relatively low key.
A month later, Gisele Bündchen made one of her first public statements about Valente while speaking to the New York Times about her cookbook Nourish.
‘This is the first time I am seeing someone that was a friend of mine first,’ she revealed. ‘It’s very different. It is very honest, and it’s very transparent.’
She was also adamant that her relationship didn’t start until after her marriage to Brady had been dissolved.
Bündchen’s latest pregnancy came to light in October of last year, and she made the news official a month later when she bared her burgeoning baby bump at a charity event in Miami.
The couple welcomed their baby boy on February 5, 2025.
Although they have so far not revealed their son’s name, People reported that his middle name is allegedly ‘River,’ which would be in keeping with the aquatic — and quasi-aquatic — middle names given to her older children: ‘Rein’ for Benjamin and ‘Lake’ for Vivian.
Bündchen met her first husband, Brady, in late 2006, and they began dating early the next year, just before his ex Bridget Moynahan revealed that she was pregnant with his first child, Jack.
Bündchen and Brady got engaged in January 2009, and they wed just a month later with a small ceremony at a Catholic church in Santa Monica, followed by a larger bash held at her home in Costa Rica.
In December of that year, they welcomed their first child together, Benjamin, and Gisele gave birth to their second child, daughter Vivian, just three days short of one year later.
Brady, who had played with the New England Patriots for 20 seasons, announced in 2020 that he was leaving the team to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After winning six Super Bowls with the Patriots, Brady won his seventh Super Bowl in his first season with the Buccaneers.
He played two seasons with the Florida-based team before announcing his retirement, only to change his plans and come back for one final season with the team.
In 2023, the quarterback was reportedly dating the model Irina Shayk, though the relationship appeared to have fizzled out after a short time.
However, the two appear to have rekindled their relationship this year.
A source told the Daily Mail earlier this month that the Brady and Shayk ‘are not dating anyone else’ at the moment, though they are ‘both officially single if anyone were to ask.’
The two, who were said to be keeping things casual, are on the ‘same page’ and aren’t ‘looking for anything serious or to go exclusive.’
Shayk shares a daughter with her former partner, Bradley Cooper.
