Rod Wave Arrested On Gun And Drug Charges

Rapper Rod Wave day took a shocking turn as the Florida-born artist was arrested in Atlanta on the very same day he learned he earned his first Grammy nomination.

The 27-year-old, Rod Wave,  real name Rodarius Green, was booked on four charges, including possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, possession of a controlled substance, and reckless driving, according to TMZ.

A spokesperson for the Milton Police Department said authorities responded to ‘a possible domestic disturbance’ at a local residence.

Upon arriving, officials determined the incident involved ‘a previously unreported burglary and the subsequent discharge of a firearm.’

Rod Wave reportedly turned himself in and was released on bond shortly after.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

This marks the second time this year that Wave has landed in jail.

In May, he was arrested in Fulton County, Georgia, on multiple charges, including aggravated assault and tampering with evidence, all of which his lawyers denied

The rapper has faced multiple arrests over the years.

Last April, he was taken into custody for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, a claim his lawyers contested, insisting Wave has never been a convicted felon.

Amid the legal drama, Wave also received his first Grammy nod on Friday.

He is nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category for ‘Sinners,’ the title track from the horror-action film of the same name.

Two other songs from the soundtrack — Pale, Pale Moon by Brittany Howard and I Lied to You by Miles Caton, who starred in the movie — are also up for the award.

Meanwhile, the 2026 Grammy nominations was packed with jaw-dropping snubs and shocking surprises.

While heavy hitters like Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, and Sabrina Carpenter scored big, others were left completely off the list.

Pop queen Lorde, whose fourth album Virgin delivered everything fans wanted, didn’t land a single nomination — despite her chart-topping success.

The Weeknd’s rocky relationship with the Academy continues: his latest album Hurry Up Tomorrow was completely shut out, keeping the singer-songwriter off the Grammy map once again.

And before fans freak out, here’s the reason Taylor Swift and Beyonce are absent: neither artist dropped music between Aug. 31, 2024, and Aug. 30, 2025, making them ineligible this year.

But the snubs weren’t the only shockers.

The band behind Netflix’s animated smash KPop Demon Hunters, HUNTR/X, scored a major nod, thrilling fans, though some still felt it wasn’t enough.

And in a move no one saw coming, a few unlikely creatives made the list — including Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend Timothée Chalamet and Supreme Court Justice

Ketanji Brown Jackson, cementing this year’s nominations as one of the wildest in recent Grammy history.

Even as the nominations brought celebration, Rod Wave’s honor was shadowed by news of his arrest, showing fame and legal drama don’t always arrive separately.
