Ozzy Osbourne Honoured At 2026 Grammy Nominees Announcement

The Osbournes paid an emotional tribute to late the Ozzy Osbourne as they announced the 2026 Grammy nominees in ‘categories close to their hearts’ on Friday.

The Osbournes Sharon, Kelly and Jack presented the Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance nominees in honour of the Black Sabbath frontman who passed away in July.

He died of heart failure aged 76 at his Buckinghamshire home on July 22, just two weeks after performing a farewell concert with his bandmates at Birmingham’s Villa Park.

Speaking during the announcement, Sharon began: ‘Hello, we are the Osbournes and music has always been the centre of our lives. Today we are so proud to be presenting Ozzy Osbourne .

Kelly added: ‘It warms out hearts to pay tribute to our dad and announce the Grammy nominees.’

‘Our dad won Grammys in both of these categories so they are particularly special to us,’ Jack explained.

Sharon continued: ‘I remember how thrilled he was to be nominated in for Best Rock Album for his last album, Patient Number 9. He was truly honoured when he won.’

The nominations for Best Rock Album are; Private Music, I Quit, From Zero and Never Enough.

Meanwhile, the Best Metal nominees are; Night Terror, Lachryma, Emergence, Soft Spine, and Birds.

Ozzy Osbourne bagged two Grammy Awards at the 2023 ceremony for the Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance.

At the time, the rocker had just announced that he was retiring from the music industry because of his ongoing health woes.

It meant he was not at the star-studded event in Los Angeles, with producer Andrew Watt and Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo instead picking up the award on his behalf.

The pair took to the stage to collect the golden gramophone trophy, where they read the message from Osbourne: ‘I love you all and f*** off.’

Osbourne’s Best Rock Performance award was given for his single Degradation Rules from the same 2022 album.

Giving credit to the late Taylor Hawkins and Jeff Beck, Ozzy’s pals also gave Josh Homme and Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath a mention as well.

The 68th Annual Grammy Awards are set to air at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 1, 2026.

There will be two new Categories: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover. The Latin Grammys will be held on November 13 in Las Vegas.

Favorites Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Addison Rae and Justin Bieber all made the cut.

But it was Kendrick Lamar who led the nominations with nine nods.

The rapper is up for record, song and album of the year – marking the third time he has had simultaneous nominations in those big categories – as well as pop duo/group performance, melodic rap performance, rap song and rap album.

He is also nominated twice in the rap performance category.

Lady Gaga, Jack Antonoff and Canadian record producer/songwriter Cirkut follow Lamar with seven nominations each

Sabrina Carpenter, Bad Bunny, Leon Thomas and Serban Ghenea all boast six nominations. Andrew Watt, Clipse, Doechii, Sounwave, SZA, Turnstile and Tyler, the Creator have five each.

In the best new artist category, global girl group Katseye, Olivia Dean, The Marias, Addison Rae, sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren and Lola Young will all go head-to-head.

Rosé, perhaps best known as one-fourth of the juggernaut girl group BLACKPINK, is the first K-pop artist to ever receive a nomination in the record of the year field.

‘The Grammy Awards are our opportunity to honor the people who make this community so vibrant and this year´s nominees remind us of the incredible talent that is driving music forward,’ said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. in a statement. ‘From emerging talent to influential icons, these nominees reflect today´s broad and diverse musical landscape, and I am excited to celebrate them in the coming weeks ahead.’
