Rapper and filmmaker, Curtis Jackson known better as 50Cent, has reassured fans he is “doing ok” after a “shooting” – because the rapper said it is “fake news.”
50Cent, gave his witty response on Instagram – reposting a news story about him. It read, “Breaking news, rapper 50Cent was hospitalized and is in critical condition due to a shooting in Hollywood, Los Angeles, according to TMZ.”
They followed it with a heart-break emoji. 50 Cent’s response was hilarious as he shut down the rumors straight away. The rapper and media mogul wrote on his Instagram, “Don’t worry I’m gonna make it, because this is fake news.”
Fans reacted to the news too, with one saying, “Does 50 kno he got shot?” Another said, “They betta leave 50 alone.” A third, referring to the time he was shot before he was famous, chimed in, “They’re 25 years late and got the wrong location.”
50 Cent’s latest post comes after he shared cryptic Instagram posts that seem to be referencing a recent lawsuit against him. The rapper is facing claims from a photographer, Guadalupe De Los Santos. The man claims that the In Da Club singer hit him with his car door in Los Angeles.
According to court documents obtained by The Mirror US, De Los Santos went to the Grove shopping center on September 11, 2024 to attend a Barnes and Noble signing that 50Cent was attending. After the event, the photographer left on his motorized scooter and claimed to use his smartphone to record an SUV the rapper was in.
“While waiting at the traffic light, he felt and heard a vehicle pull up from behind him in the far-right lane,” the lawsuit stated. “It was the SUV containing Defendant Jackson.”
De Los Santos claims that the SUV’s front passenger door of the car swung open and hit him causing him to fall to the pavement. He alleges that he suffered injuries to his left side and torso along with emotional distress.
“There was no reason for the front passenger door of Defendant Jackson’s SUV to open other than to strike Plaintiff,” the court documents said. “As such, Plaintiff De Los Santos alleges an occupant of the SUV, at Defendant Jackson’s direction, opened the door to intentionally strike Plaintiff and injure him.”
While 50Cent has not publicly responded to the lawsuit, the rapper seemed to hint at the lawsuit with a few Instagram posts.
The rapper shared two posts on his Instagram page, each including photos of him and Gloria Allred – the lawyer who is representing De Los Santos. “The moment I realized I don’t like lawyers,” he captioned one. “Gloria you should know better, chase a different ambulance.”
