Tom Brady has broken his silence after ex-wife Gisele Bundchen welcomed her first child with new boyfriend Joaquim Valente.
Bundchen, who split from Tom Brady in 2022 after 13 years of marriage, recently gave birth to her third baby, TMZ reported on Wednesday, with mother and child both said to be ‘happy and healthy.’
One day after the news was announced, Tom Brady, 47, shared a cryptic post from another user on his Instagram story, which includes an emotional message about ‘being loved’ and ‘having a friend’.
‘I really think the secret to being loved is to love,’ the post reads. ‘And the secret to being interesting is to be interested. And the secret to having others find beauty in you is to find beauty in others. And the secret to having a friend is being a friend.’
The legendary quarterback wrote alongside it on his story: ‘Love this’.
It remains unclear when Gisele, also 47, welcomed her new bundle of joy with jiujitsu instructor Joaquim, while the gender and name have also not yet been revealed.
Tom Brady already shares daughter Vivian Lake, 11, and son Benjamin Rein, 15, with the Brazilian model. He is also father to 17-year-old son Jack, who he welcomed with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan shortly after their 2006 split.
Bundchen considered herself a ‘bonus’ parent to his mini-me and they appear to maintain a close relationship even after they announced their divorce in October 2022.
Less than a year later, Gisele was linked with Joaquim while her former husband was rumored to be dating model Irina Shayk.

The model informed Tom that she was expecting her first child with Valente shortly after telling their children because she wanted him to hear it from her first – rather than through media reports.
‘Gisele and Joaquim were not planning to have a child together. This was unexpected. Joaquim has always wanted a family, so she is happy to be able to give this to him.’
‘She knew that he would be a great father when her kids started taking classes with him. He is patient, playful and so understanding,’ the insider stated.
A source also previously told DailyMail.com that Tom Brady has been struggling to date as he moves on from the ‘sting’ of Bundchen’s new romance.
‘Finding out Gisele was pregnant stung’, the insider dished to DailyMail.com. ‘Tom had to get out his feelings about it and he did it in his own time.’
The source explained that while the strategic advisor kept his cards close to his chest, his feelings were clear to those around him.
‘There’s not a lot of people who see the Tom behind closed doors, but those that do could see he was upset,’ they continued. ‘It was a hard pill to swallow. It was never something he ever thought was going to happen.
But she is still the mother of two of his children, so he wants her to be OK. He has to move on and with her pregnant, she has definitely moved on, so he can’t be upset about it anymore.
‘It is out of his control, out of his hands. He is not letting it get to him anymore.’
Brady did not make an official statement on Bundchen’s pregnancy news but he did share a wistful social media post, quoting Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 song Landslide hours after the news broke.
‘Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?’ he wrote alongside a photo of the setting sun.
In November, Brady notably shared a cryptic quote about ‘failing’ and ‘coming short’ in the wake of the pregnancy bombshell.
The quote was from former President Theodore Roosevelt and was seen on
on a card that the NFL star held up in a social media photo.
And during the 2024 Fortune Global Forum in New York City, he also admitted that he ‘screwed up a lot as a parent.’
