Critics Choice Awards Postponed Again In Wake Of L.A. Wildfires

The 30th Annual Critics Choice Awards is on the move again. The award show, originally scheduled for January 12 and subsequently pushed to January 26, will now take place in February, the exact date is still TBA, Deadline reports.

According to the report by Deadline, Chelsea Handler is still expected to return as host for her third consecutive year. It is unclear whether the rescheduled event will remain at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The Critics Choice awards ceremony will be broadcast live on E! and around the world, available on Peacock the next day.

The Critics Choice Awards was among the first major Hollywood events to be postponed just hours into the firestorm that decimated the Pacific Palisades and Altadena neighborhoods of Los Angeles.

A week later, the city is still grappling with the full scope of the devastation, which has hit Hollywood hard, impacting dozens of actors, writers, directors, producers, executives and talent representatives impacted. Amid the devastation, with hundreds left homeless and tens of thousands still evacuated, no one in Hollywood feels like celebrating right now.

Conclave and Wicked lead this year’s Critics Choice nominations with 11 apiece. Dune: Part Two and Emilia Pérez follow closely behind with 10 noms each, including Best Picture nominations for both films. Rounding out the Best Picture category are A Complete Unknown, Anora, The Brutalist, Nickel Boys, Sing Sing and The Substance.
