Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are now set to officially file for divorce, as the latest update on the drama between the two entertainers, is that they are about to make their rumoured separation official.
According to the report by the Daily Mail, friends have claimed to the tabloid that both Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are once again pushing ahead with divorce after a final attempt at reconciliation in recent weeks failed.
The couple’s divorce documents ‘are finalized, but not yet turned in’, multiple sources have claimed.
The news follows Affleck buying a new $20.5 million ‘bachelor pad’ mansion in the Pacific Palisades on Wednesday, July 24, the day Lopez turned 55.
Friends of Lopez claimed Affleck’s sudden bachelor pad purchase on her birthday had been a ‘stab to the heart’.
His purchase came days after the couple listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68 million.
July 24 also marked the day Lopez also finalized the sale of her four-bedroom New York City penthouse for $23 million, People reported.
‘They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to drop them,’ one source close to the duo claimed.
‘At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn’t.
‘Honestly, in the end they could not come to a compromise. What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it,’ another source claimed.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were last pictured together on March 30. They have since spent the summer apart; Jennifer largely on the east coast while Ben remains at home in Los Angeles.
They even spent their second wedding anniversary on July 16th in different cities.
Reports of Affleck and Lopez’s marital woes began circulating in May when a sources close to the couple reported Ben had moved into a $100,000 rental and the couple intended to sell their ‘dream home’.
Affleck’s home was just a short drive from ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s Brentwood house.
The couple were married from 2005 to 2018, and share children Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.
Affleck’s bachelor pad is more like a multi-million mansion with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, with breakfast and dining areas, as well as a separate family room, den, walk-in closets, media room, powder room and even a guest house.
The home was designed by architect Cliff May.
The penthouse Lopez sold is a four-bedroom, 7.5-bath duplex.

Reports of Affleck and Lopez’s marital woes began circulating in May after the pair hadn’t been seen together since late March.
A source told In Touch at the time: ‘Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for.
‘They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.’
He and Garner, 52, were married from 2005 to 2018, and they share children Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and 12-year-old Samuel.
One of Lopez’s LA-based friends told the Daily Mail: ‘If it is only a question of putting the work in then you had better believe that [Jen] will turn it around.
‘She has thrown her heart and soul into her love story with Ben and will not give it up without a fight,’ the source added. ‘From what I hear there is still a lot of love there, so there must be hope.’
Lopez is believed to be staying in New York City, after recently celebrating her birthday on July 24th in the Hamptons.
The couple also spent the Fourth of July weekend apart.
Affleck and Lopez tied the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022. They said ‘I do’ again in a more lavish ceremony the following month in Georgia of 2022.
After her Bridgerton-themed party, Lopez thanked her 251 million Instagram follower for their messages with a cryptic post.
Lopez admitted to being ‘fragile’ and declared her fans as her ‘biggest gift.’
