Tori Spelling has given fans an inside look into the veneer procedure that raised her confidence levels and got her ‘smiling again.’
Spelling, 51, has been open with fans about the procedure, revealing she once had an amazing smile that dwindled over the years after her teeth became less of a priority.
But now Tori Spelling isn’t hiding her teeth anymore thanks to her best friend, celeb-loved dentist Dr. Kevin Sands.
Both Tori Spelling and Sands shared video chronicling her makeover, from her consultation to the day her veneers were officially put in place.
‘So I’m getting a new smile with Dr. Sands. It feels so weird to say that. Kevin and I have been best friends since we were 15 years old,’ Tori – who received the veneers back in May – explained during her consultation.
While in the chair, she told her pal, ‘I look back at 90210 and I smiled in every scene!’
‘You had the best looking teeth!’ Dr. Sands insisted.
‘I did,’ she replied with a wistful tone.
Dr. Sands — who has worked on the likes of Kim Kardashian and Drake — broke down what he planned on doing that day: ‘Today we’re going to take a thin layer off the top of your tooth.’
Tori candidly described how her teeth had ‘zapped’ her confidence levels over the years – despite them once being her ‘thing.’
‘My smile used to be my thing when I was young,’ Tori explained. ‘And then as I got older, I just never paid attention to my teeth.’
‘When I talk to people I’ll put like my hand up and stuff and it’s really zapped my confidence,’ she added. ‘So I’m super excited ’cause Kevin is going to give me a whole new smile.’
Tori first received a set of temporary veneers.
In the two weeks since the temporaries were placed, Tori noticed a boost in her self-esteem.
‘My whole confidence, even these last two weeks has been elevated. Even in my temporaries. Like I’m smiling again, and I just feel so much better, so I can’t wait for my new teeth,’ she explained.
Tori got her veneers done just days before her 51st birthday on May 16.
Last month, she opened up about her decision to get veneers after years of feeling self-conscious about her ‘disgusting’ teeth.
In an episode of her misSPELLING podcast, the actress admitted that she let her ‘teeth go to s**t’ in her 40s.
As a birthday gift to herself, she decided to revamp her smile with the help of Sands, who appeared as that week’s guest.
‘I always say I have a fear of the dentist. I let my teeth go to s**t,’ the Beverly Hills, 90210 star told listeners, before asking Sands: ‘So, how bad were my teeth?’
Not holding back, Sands said Tori’s old teeth were ‘disgusting, to say the least.’
He continued: ‘They were chipped, discolored. Didn’t look like the Tori I used to know.’
Tori agreed with Sands’ blunt assessment. ‘Yeah, I couldn’t smile anymore. I didn’t smile,’ she said. ‘I didn’t have a cavity till I was 40. That was all downhill from there.’
After years of hiding her smile, Tori reached out to Sands and they decided veneers were the way to go.
‘I wanted to make you look like you did back in the good old days, the hot little Tori that I know,’ Sands said, before explaining the procedure.
‘We reshaped each of Tory’s teeth. We took these special custom molds and from those molds, we handcrafted each individual tooth, and we just rebuilt her smile like it was 20 years ago,’ he said.
‘Now you have a full smile. They’re white, gorgeous, sexy. Look at you. You look 10 years younger.’
Tori is absolutely thrilled with the outcome. ‘I’ve never been happier. I smile now. There’s a whole new me. People underestimate a smile,’ she gushed.
