Halsey has hinted that she has been battling lupus and leukemia, the singer revealed Tuesday.
Halsey shared the news on Instagram in a series of videos that appear to document the singer receiving infusions while also breaking down in tears.
‘Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive,’ the 29-year-old wrote in the caption. ‘Short story long, I wrote an album.’
While her exact diagnosis was not immediately clear, she tagged both The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance in her post.
Halsey says she’s ‘lucky to be alive’ as she breaks down in tears revealing secret health battle with lupus and leukemia.
‘I feel like an old lady,’ Halsey says aloud in the first video, while rubbing her legs in apparent pain. ‘I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick.
‘At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s.’
In a second clip, the star could be seen inside a hospital while hooked up to a machine.
While filming a quick selfie video, the music artist informed her fans and followers, ‘Today is day one of treatment.’ She panned the camera towards the machine and then back to herself while resting on a chair.
The star also included a short clip while inside a studio as she seemingly recorded her new single, The End. Throughout the duration of the snippet, she strummed notes on a guitar while singing some of the lyrics.
A short montage of her health battle was also candidly shared to her fans, including her breaking down in tears and receiving treatment.
Other moments included the songstress listening to music, her arm hooked up to an IV and the mother-of-one positively giving a thumbs up towards the camera.
The next slide in Halsey’s latest Instagram carousel showed a screenshot of a note in her phone simply titled, ‘the f***ing end of the world.’
