Super Eagles Skipper Ahmed Musa Joins Call For Peace In Plataeu State

Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa has joined other millions of Nigerians both within and outside, to call for a stop to the incessant killings in Plateau state, Nigeria.

Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa who is leading the Nigerian team to the 2024 African Nations Cup (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire, taking to his official social media handle on Thursday, 25th January 2024, called for peace in the country, urging Nigerians to celebrate their differences rather than fight or kill because of it. He also added that embracing and celebrating our difference is so important, because Nigerian families have both Christians and Muslims, especially those in Plateau state.

The message and call to a stop to the violence in Plateau, clearly shows Ahmed Musa has his ears on the ground in Nigeria, and he is following happenings in the country from far away Côte d’Ivoire.
His post reads:

Dear Plateau family and Nigerians as a whole.
Our state is hurting, and we need to come together. The fight, the killings, it’s too much. We are all one big family, no matter our religion. Most families in Plateau have both Christians and Muslims. We should be celebrating our differences, not fighting because of them.
Let’s ask our leaders to focus on what really matters: keeping us safe and bringing back the peace we once had. Plateau used to be known as the home of Peace and Tourism. We want that back.
So, let’s stand side by side, no matter our religion. Hold hands, pray and ask for peace. We can do this if we all work together
,” he added.

As many as 30 people lost their lives in the early hours of Wednesday, after gunmen attacked Kwahaslalek village in Mangu Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau.

Two other communities of Kinat and Mairana on the borders of Mangu and Barkin Ladi local government areas in the state also suffered attacks on the same day.
