The pay cheques for Afropop singer Yemi Alade keeps getting fatter and fatter every day, as she revealed to millions of her fans and followers on her official social media handle, that she will be performing for the British Royal Family In London.

The Afropop singer Yemi Alade who is also known as ‘mama Africa’, while taking to her social media handle on Thursday 14th October 2021, dropped a series of African inspired photoshoot. In the photos which she shared, she captioned them talking about her upcoming show with the British Royal family, and questioning herself why she keeps on writing heartbreak songs than love songs.

She said:

“I Keep writing more heartbreak songs than love songs  

I’ll focus on Getting ready to perform for The Royal family in London then back to HOUSTON for #yemialadeMafia Nov 7th,” she added.

While the Royal Family are yet to release a statement confirming this and Afropop singer Yemi Alade not revealing the programme or event she is bid to perform in in London, she is set to add her name to the long and exclusive lists of those who have had the privilege to perform for the British Royal family over the years.

Some of those who have performed for the Royal family, are Sting, Shaggy, and the South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Judy Garland to Josh Groban, Louis Armstrong, Julie Andrews, Judy Garland, Eartha Kitt, the Beatles, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sammy Davis Jr, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Lady Gaga Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and many more. But she will be the first Nigerian of her generation to be doing that.
