The First Lady of Kogi State, and wife of Governor Yahaya Bello, Rashida Yahaya Bello is marking her birthday today, and she has taken to her official social media handle to share a series of lovely photos to usher in her new age.

Rashida Yahaya Bello on Tuesday 2nd May 2023, took to her social media handle to wish herself a happy birthday, and she did it in style, looking elegant in all of the photos she shared on her official social media handle.

If I’m asked to describe my life, I’ll call it a miracle, small moments like the joy of being with all my loved ones in health peace and joy, and the big ones like the giant strides God has helped me take. They have all led me to this point and I can say that I am a product of God’s faithfulness and a part of His plan for humanity. For these and more, I am grateful for the privilege and I feel fulfilled that through God’s blessings, I’ve touched many lives,” she captioned some of the photos she shared. 

She continued with her caption adding:

This year is a thriving year for me, I thrive in the love of my amazing family, health, abundance and joy. I thrive in living a life full of impact and purpose, and I thrive in enjoying God’s grace every day

Happy Birthday to me,” she added. 

Rashida Yayaha Bello (née Imodagbe) who is a Nigerian philanthropist and advocate against early and forced marriage, was born on this day May 2nd 1985 in in Jattu Edo state Nigeria, and she is one of three wives of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state.

Alleged N3n Fraud And EFCC Case:

Rashida just like most Nigerian politicians and their families, is also not without some corrupt/fruad allegations, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in February 8th 2023, arraigned her over alleged fraud.

Also arraigned before a federal high court in Abuja was Ali Bello, identified as a nephew to the Kogi governor.

In a released statement by Wilson Uwujaren, EFCC spokesperson in February, the agency said the duo were docked alongside three other persons on an 18-count charge “bordering on criminal misappropriation and money laundering to the tune of N3,081,804,654″.

Rashida was at the time, said to be at large.

“That you, Ali Bello, Abba Adaudu, Yakubu Siyaka Adabenege, Iyada Sadat, Rashida Bello (at large) sometime in June, 2020 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court procured E-Traders International Limited to retain the aggregate sum of N3,081,804,654.00 (Three Billion, Eighty One Million, Eight Hundred and Four Thousand, Six Hundred and Fifty Four Naira) which sum you reasonably ought to have known forms part of proceeds of unlawful activity to wit: criminal misappropriation, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to sections 18(a), 15(20)(d) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 as amended and punishable under section 15 (3) of the same Act,” the charge reads in part.

“That you Ali Bello, Abba Adaudu Rashida Bello (at large) sometime in November 2021 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court procured E-Traders International Limited to transfer the aggregate sum of $570,330 (Five Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Thirty United States Dollars) to account number no; 426-6644272 domiciled in TD Bank, United States of America, which sum you reasonably ought to have known forms part of proceeds of unlawful activity to with: criminal misappropriation, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to section 15(2)(d) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 as amended and punishable under section 15 (3) of the same Act.”

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
