Senator-elect New Nwoko has been presented with his certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a Senator-elect, representing the Delta North Senatorial District, Delta State.
Senator-elect Ned Nwoko was a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He polled a total of 92,514 votes to defeat the Labour Party (LP) candidate, Kennedy Kanma, who polled 86,121 votes and the candidate of All Progressives Congress, Peter Nwaoboshi, who scored 36,816 votes.
Mr Nwaoboshi is the incumbent senator for the district.
The Returning Officer, Josephine Anene-Okeakwa, announced the results at the INEC collation centre in Oshimili South Local Government Area in Asaba.
However, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency on the platform of PDP, lost his election to the LP candidate, Ngozi Okolie.
Taking to her official social media handle on Tuesday 7th March 2023, to Regina Daniels who is the wife to Senator-elect Ned Nwoko, shared a series of photos from the International Conference Centre where she had accompanied her husband to collect his Certificate of return.
Thanking the people of Delta State, Regina Daniels wrote this as a caption:
“Today we received the certificate of return from INEC at the international conference centre in Abuja. Once again, I say a big thank you to everyone who showed their support. He will further appreciate by serving the great people of Anbioma right,” she said.
