The body of a man identified as Marwane Souidi who was declared missing for two months has been found inside a trunk by Police in France, AFP reports.
According to the report, the body of Marwane Souidi was found in a trunk in Rives-en-Seine area of France, as the suspect has since been indicted for “acts of torture and barbarism” and “murder”, two people were imprisoned in the evening.
French TV, BMFM also reported that a source close to the investigation revealed to them that the lifeless body of Marwane Souidi was found in a plastic trunk this week in Rives-en-Seine near Rouen (Seine-Maritime).
Marwane Souidi disappeared in September
He was a 25-year-old man from Oise. He had disappeared last September in the department of Essonne after an evening spent with one of his friends.
The family had declared his disappearance in the Oise before the prosecution of Evry was seized and opened a judicial investigation for kidnapping and forcible confinement.
The investigation into his disappearance had been entrusted to the PJ of Evry where a group of eight investigators had tackled the case. “It was on a very small signal that they were able to trace the suspect who had gone green near Rouen,” said a source familiar with the matter. They then went near Rouen to arrest him.
The alleged perpetrator is a party and nightlife friend of Marwane. Domiciled in Essonne, he has skills as an elevator engineer, AFP reports.
The story, sordid, takes place in the middle of rave parties where synthetic drugs circulate in the evenings. According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim was the sufferer of the suspect, portrayed as being able to become very quickly ultra violent. Marwane was the victim of recurring violence in the days leading up to his death, the report by AFP stated.
The 29-year-old suspect and his roommate were indicted this Saturday for “acts of torture and barbarism” and “murder”, then imprisoned in the evening, learned BFMTV. The prosecutor requested a warrant of committal for them.
Victim of acts of torture
The box containing the body had been hidden in the elevator shaft of a building. Marwane Souidi was found in the fetal position in the trunk. The victim shows signs of torture and numerous acts of violence. Beaten, the young man died of asphyxiation and strangulation, as revealed by the autopsy of his body.
The suspect admitted having moved Marwane’s body several times after his death, in particular in the cellar of his apartment, then in that of a dwelling of a member of his family, before moving it again in the place where he was eventually found.
The technical and scientific police screened a total of five scenes. “Hours and hours of commitment on their part,” welcomed the source familiar with the matter. In this case, more than half a dozen people were arrested, in addition to the main suspect and his roommate.
Marwane Souidi’s family had multiplied calls for testimony on social networks. This Saturday, she posted a message on Twitter to announce the discovery of the young man’s body.
