Ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan is speaking for the first time after an attempt on his life, as has revealed that he was shot four times, with two bullets striking his legs, during a protest march in Pakistan yesterday, Metro UK reports.
According to reports, Gunmen had opened fire on the political event led by the country’s Ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan injuring several people, yesterday.
Describing his injuries in an address to the nation, Ex-Pakistan PM Imran Khan said he was hit ‘on the right thigh [with] two bullets’ and on ‘the left thigh two bullets’.
His ‘left tibia was fractured’ following the shooting.
Mr Khan also claimed that three people were involved in the assassination attempt made against him.
He gave no names and provided no evidence for the allegations.
One of Mr Khan’s allies was killed and 13 others, including two legislators, were wounded in yesterday’s attack.
During his address, he said: ‘Once I recover, I will once again come onto the streets’.
Mr Khan’s supporters rallied overnight in different parts of the country after the shooting.
The controversial politician was forced to resign earlier this year amid a political crisis.
He claimed, without evidence, that his removal from office was engineered by the US.
But since his resignation, Mr Khan has attempted to mount a comeback, a move which has destabilised Pakistani politics.
He has been widely condemned for proceeding with a state visit to meet Vladimir Putin in Moscow on the same day the February invasion of Ukraine began.
