All Souls' Day: Mrs Soludo Remembers Late Mom, Others

Anambra State First Lady, Mrs Nonye Soludo has joined Roman Catholics around the world, to mark All Soul’s Day, as she remembers her late mother, her mother-in-law and all other departed souls.

Mrs Nonye Soludo taking to her official social media handle on Wednesday 2nd November 2022, posted a throwback photo of her mother with a caption that reads:

As we mark the feast of all souls today, i remember our loved ones who have joined the saints, especially my beloved mum, Mrs Gloria Ezenwanne, my mother-in-law Ngbafor Soludo. I pray for the souls of good people we have lost to life’s biggest enemy. I remember relatives and friends. Family, allies and associates. i remember all the people who are no longer with us.

It is our solemn prayer that this liturgical memorial and the supplications that come with it bring them forgiveness and give eternal rest to the souls of all the departed.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen,” she said.

All Souls’ Day

All Souls’ Day, in Roman Catholicism, is a day for the commemoration of all the faithful departed, those baptized Christians who are believed to be in purgatory because they died with the guilt of lesser sins on their souls. It is observed on November 2.

Roman Catholic doctrine holds that the prayers of the faithful on earth will help cleanse these souls in order to fit them for the vision of God in heaven, and the day is dedicated to prayer and remembrance. Requiem masses are commonly held, and many people visit and sometimes decorate the graves of loved ones
