Olivia Wilde And Florence Pugh: Warner Bros. Denies Reports Of Conflict After Allegation Of “Screaming Match” On Set Of 'Don’t Worry Darling'

Warner Bros. is denying any issues with Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh, following reports of a “screaming match” between the two on the set of Don’t Worry Darling.

The studio behind Don’t Worry Darling is clearing the air.

Warner Bros. execs have denied any tension between the company and Olivia Wilde following a Vulture report that the director and actress Florence Pugh got in an alleged “screaming match” on the set of Don’t Worry Darling, as an anonymous source told the outlet.

According to the report by Enews, the source who revealed the issues between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh to Vulture, stated that trouble started when Pugh became fed up with Wilde’s alleged absences from filming.

Enews also reported that when asked to comment on the report about the conflict between Olivia Wilde and Florence Pugh, Warner Bros. co-chairs and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy released a joint statement with only positive words to say about Wilde.

“We are so proud of the work that Olivia Wilde has done making this incredibly beautiful and entertaining film and look forward to collaborating with her again,” De Luca and Abdy said. “The studio is very grateful and appreciative of the tireless support by Olivia in bringing her vision to life from production through release.”

The executives added, “Any suggestion of conflict between the studio and Olivia is simply not true.”

“As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds itself,” Wilde said. “I don’t feel the need to contribute. I think it’s sufficiently well-nourished.”

Don’t Worry Darling cinematographer Matthew Libatique also denied seeing any red flags while filming.

“This was probably the most harmonious set I’ve ever been on,” Libatique said on The Hollywood Reporter‘s Behind the Screen podcast. “Olivia built a team that believed in her and she believed in each and everybody on the set… When I hear that there are rumours of acrimony on the set, I reject it. It wasn’t apparent at all.”

For her part, Pugh even included a photo with Wilde in her roundup of behind-the-scenes pics on Sept. 23. Don’t Worry Darling is out now.

The Alleged Conflict Between Olivia Wilde And Florence Pugh

According to the report by huffpost which also reported the story, stated that Florence Pugh was allegedly not happy with Wilde, who stars as Bunny in her own film, for reportedly disappearing from the set with her now-partner, Harry Styles, a source familiar with events on the set told Vulture on Friday.

The habit was reportedly enough to spark a “screaming match” between Pugh and Wilde in January 2021, the news site reported.

The movie was about 75% of the way through filming when the argument between Pugh and Wilde allegedly took place.

The lead-up to the release of “Don’t Worry Darling” on Friday has been embroiled in drama.

This includes, but isn’t limited to, the debunked “spitgate” scandal between actors Harry Styles and Chris Pine, Wilde’s remarks that she fired Shia LaBeouf for allegedly having “combative energy,” Pugh’s lack of promotion work for the movie and Wilde’s ex Jason Sudeikis serving her legal papers during a presentation about the film.
