The embattled President of the United States, Donald Trump, is reported to have handed over powers to VP Pence, after he checked out of the White House.
According to the report by TMZ, Trump appears to have totally checked out of D.C. with less than a week remaining in his Presidency.
TMZ in their report , stated that VP Pence was seen sitting at the head of the table during a Thursday briefing on the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, with Trump noticeably absent from the board room at FEMA headquarters in Washington.
VP Pence was also reported to have looked very Command-in-Chief- as he, not Trump, greeted and thanked the National Guard troops who have been stationed at the Capitol since the Jan. 6 riot.
Based on appearances, at least, Pence is running the show … while Trump’s got one foot out the door
The moving process is full steam ahead at the White House, where a bust of Abraham Lincoln was shuffled out a side door at the West Wing.
Trump’s reportedly getting set to fly south to Florida to post up at his Mar-a-Lago resort ahead of Inauguration Day so, Pence’s calendar’s gonna be full for the next 5 or so days.
It is clear Trump is making is way out earlier than expected, since he has publicly said he will not be attending the inauguration of President-elect, Biden.
Trump who had his Twitter account suspended for allegedly inciting the riots at the Capitol Hill, had taken to the account before it was permanently suspended to say that he will not attend Joe Biden’s inauguration. He said:
“To all of those who have asked, I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” he tweeted.
He already promised a peaceful and smooth transition of power to his successor, and Democratic President-elect Joe Biden, later this month
