The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the arrest of one Professor Zainab Duke and her staff for allegedly beating up a female Police Orderly attached to the Professor.
The Police in a statement released on Thursday 22nd September 2022, by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejbobi while confirming the incident involving Professor Zainab Duke and her female Police Orderly, stated that the suspects have been arrested and that the Federal Capital Territory Police Command will charge the case to court.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejbobi tweeted this on his official social media handle a few minutes ago, saying:
“Assault on woman police: We have arrested the woman professor and her staff since the date of the incident, the matter is getting the necessary attention it deserves. FCT Command will charge d case to court asap. It is condemned in totality. We will still update you shortly. Tnks,” he tweeted on Thursday morning.
One Prof Zainab Duke was alleged to have ordered her maids to beat up a female Police Orderly attached to her, over what is yet to be ascertained by the Police, as an investigation is still ongoing. But the incident seems to have happened some time ago, judging from the tweet from Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Prince Olumuyiwa Adejbobi
According to the tweet shared on Wednesday 21st September 2022, by one Kenny Adewole, a Journalist, Prof Zainab Duke of area 11 allegedly beat up her Police Orderly and ordered her maids to beat her up as nothing will happen because she is a friend to the wife of Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba.
The Twitter user twitted saying:
“I hope the @PoliceNG will prosecute Prof Dike Zainab of Area 11 who assaulted her Police Orderly and ordered her maids to beat her up as nothing will happen because the IGP”s wife is her friend?”
In a follow-up tweet, Kenny Adewole twitted saying:
“I can tell you that she and her housemaids have been arrested and will be charged in court. I will update everyone on her trial as well,” he said.
