French star Mbappé is now the second-highest goalscorer in PSG history, joining Zlatan Ibrahimovic to share that spot with 156 goals each.

The French star Mbappé achieved this feat on Saturday night, after he netted a brace in the game between PSG and Saint-Etienne, thereby equalling the record set by Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he also joins the former Manchester United striker in the club’s history books.

But the man at the top of the standings remains Edinson Cavani, who left after scoring 200 goals for PSG.

Kylian Mbappé needed 205 games to reach this total, 25 more than the Swedish striker (180 games). But to try to beat Cavani’s absolute record, the world champion will have to extend his Parisian contract, which ends next June. In this sense, the PSG Ultras had also deployed a banner before the match against ASSE: “From Bondy to Paris, Kylian, your story is written here.”

Kylian Mbappé is already set for a potential departure to Real Madrid next summer but nothing has been decided yet.
