The chairman of Osun APC primaries, Governor Abdulrazak of Kwara state, has hailed the peaceful conduct of the exercise on Saturday.
Governor Abdulrazak of Kwara state in the statement released on Saturday 19th February 2022 on his official social media handle, while speaking on the outcome of the Osun APC primaries, thanked APC members for the huge turnout and their peaceful conduct.
Governor Abdulrazak of Kwara state said: “I will like to congratulate the people of Osun State, all the aspirants, leaders of our party in the state, and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for their cooperation and peaceful conducts so far.
The important thing for us was to ensure a peaceful and democratic process of allowing party members to select the governorship candidate for our party. And from what I witnessed, the process has been peaceful and people-centred.
More so, the impressive voter turnout clearly shows that Osun APC is alive and strong. I believe the huge turnout for the primary can be attributed to the dividends of democracy enjoyed by the people of the state from the successive progressive administrations,” he said.
Governor Abdulrazak of Kwara state also thanked former Governor of Osun state and the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola for laying the foundation for Governor Oyetola, where he said:
“…former Governor Rauf Aregbesola did well in providing the foundational infrastructure that Governor Gboyega Oyetola is massively building on.
Once again, I congratulate the people of Osun and all leaders of our party for their peaceful conduct thus far. While collation of results gets to the final stage, all I see is democracy in action within a very large political family in Osun State,” he added about the Osun APC primaries.
