The executive chairman of Warri-South Local Government Area of Delta State, Dr Michael Tidi has congratulated Andrew Ukavwe on his successful screening and confirmation as a member of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission.
The congratulatory message by the chairman of Warri-South Council, Dr Michael Tidi on Friday 21st January 2022, comes a day after Andrew Ukavwe and others were screened and confirmed as Member Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission by the State Assembly.
Delta State Assembly had on Thursday 20th January 2022, screened and confirmed the nominees for appointment as Chairman and Members of Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission.
The names of the nominees screened and confirmed by the Assembly on Thursday, were under-listed as:
- Mrs Cordelia Anyangeu – Chairman
- Chief Dr. (Mrs.) Philomena E. Oyearone – Member
- Chief Timothy C. Umokoro – Member
- Mrs Mowoe Komboye Fou – Member
- Sunday Ohwo Ebireri – Member
- Chief Innocent Okofu – Member
- Sir Andrew Orits Ukavwe – Member
The screening and confirmation is coming a day after Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had forwarded the seven names of the nominees for appointment as chairman and members of the House of Assembly Commission to the legislature for approval.
The names of the nominees, were are contained in a letter, were read during a plenary of the assembly by Speaker Sherriff Oborevwori in Asaba, the state capital.
Okowa had said that the reconstitution of the commission was a sequel to the expiration of the tenure of its former chairman and members.
“In exercise of the power conferred on me by Section 4, subsection (4) of the Delta State House of Assembly Service Commission (Establishment) Law, 2021, I wish to present the following persons for confirmation by the House.”
