The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) have reported and confirmed a total of 1051 new COVID-19 cases of the coronavirus in the country.
According to the daily report by the health agency, the 1051 new COVID-19 cases reported on Thursday 16th December 2021, now puts the total number of confirmed cases since the inception of the pandemic to 221,071 confirmed cases and 211,345 as of the number of discharged cases. The death toll also stands at 2983, all recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The 1051 new cases were reported from 11 states and the distribution of these cases across these states and the federal capital territory, shows the following:
