Quavo Speaks On Elevator Brawl With Saweetie

Migos rapper, Quavo is speaking out for the first time since the viral video an elevator altercation between him and his ex-girlfriend Saweetie, saying he never physically abused her.

According to the report by TMZ, Quavo while speaking on the elevator brawl which happened last year, said: “We had an unfortunate situation almost a year ago that we both learned and moved on from. I haven’t physically abused Saweetie and have real gratitude for what we did share overall.”

The unfortunate situation Quavo’s referring to is a video TMZ obtained inside an apartment complex elevator. The scene starts with Saweetie appearing to take a swing at Quavo during a struggle for control of a video game console.

At one point, Quavo grabs Saweetie by the arm, swinging her into the elevator, and the two fall to the floor. Saweetie stays on the ground — apparently injured.

Saweetie, offscreen for most of the footage, seemingly remained lying on the floor before she struggled to pick herself up and limp out of the elevator as Quavo watched.

Once the door opens, Quavo gets out and makes sure the door stays open while Saweetie limps out.

Quavo’s statement comes just hours after Saweetie told TMZ that: “This unfortunate incident happened a year ago, while we have reconciled since then and moved past this particular disagreement, there were simply too many other hurdles to overcome in our relationship and we have both since moved on.”

She had tweeted that she was single and never made mention of the elevator brawl in her tweet announcing their breakup. She had tweeted this:

“I’m single. I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character,” Saweetie tweeted. “Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women.”

“I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation 🙏🏽.,” she added in another tweet.

Later that day, Quavo addressed Saweetie’s post writing, “You are not the woman I thought you were.”

“I know you want to make this into a show so I’ll play my part just this one time,” he wrote. “I don’t normally put my business out there, especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives.”

The statement by Quavo is coming a day after reports that the LAPD detectives want to meet with both parties involved in what could potentially turn into a criminal matter of mutual combat, where both Quavo and Saweetie could be found at fault.
