Beyoncé won her 28th Grammys at the just concluded 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony, to become the most decorated female artist of all time.

Beyoncé won her 28th Grammys after becoming the most nominated artist this year. She won four of those awards on Sunday night, with wins coming in both from her songs and albums, plus the songs she was featured in.

She took home the Grammys for Best Rap Song in Meghan Thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’ remix ,which she was featured in and her win for Best R&B Song for “Black Parade”, to become the most decorated woman in Grammys history.

The Black is King artist has now has won a total of 28 Grammy awards, topping the 27 won by the previous record-holder Alison Krauss.

Beyoncé won Grammys for Best Music Video for “Brown Skin Girl”, which she shares with her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, and Wizkid. Blue is now the second youngest person to ever win a Grammy. Also, with Wizkid becoming the first Afrobeat singer to win the award.

“As an artist I believe it’s my job, and all of our jobs, to reflect time and it’s been such a difficult time,” Beyoncé said while accepting her award for Best R&B Song.

She continued, saying that she created the song to honour the “beautiful Black kings and queens” in the world.

She added: “I have been working my whole life … This is such a magical night.”

Now, this begs the question: Who actually has the most Grammy awards… ever?

According to the Recording Academy’s website, composer Georg Solti is the current record holder with the most golden gramophones, with 31 total awards. Super producer Quincy Jones is next, with 28, who now ties with Beyoncé, also with 28.

According to her official Grammy.com page, Beyoncé is also the most-nominated female artist in Grammy history, with 62 career nominations.
