The Nigeria Police Force, Anambra State Command, have arrested and paraded a suspect for unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition in Awka Anambra State.
The Command in a statement released by it’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Haruna Mohammed on Wednesday 27th Janaury 2021, stated that:
“on the 27/1/2021 at about 2:44pm, a police patrol team attached to B’ Division Awka while on stop and search duty along Juhel Pharmacy Nodu, Awka intercepted a tricycle rider one Uchenna Nwafor ‘m’ aged 24 years of Umuogdunun village Awka but resident at Meloc road Awka, behaving in a suspicious manner and upon search, a locally made pistol loaded with life cartridge was recovered in his possession.
“The suspect was promptly arrested and is assisting the police with useful information to unravel his motive of being in possession of a firearm after which he would be brought to justice.
Recently, the command has intensified a robust patrol in order to stem the tide of cultism and other nefarious activities in the State,” the statement said.
