Trey Songz has been released by the Police, 24-hours after he was taken to custody for allegedly assaulting a police officer while attending Sunday’s NFL playoff game.

Trey Songz made the announcement of his release from the Jackson County Detention Center in downtown Kansas via an Instagram post, where he posted photos from inside of his private jet on the ride back to Los Angeles. He did not make mention of his arrest by the Police while posting photos from the game.

He also posted a picture where he is posing with a security guard inside of the game and near his seats.

“Chief’s game was lit right?!” Trey Songz captioned the set of photos.

Trey Songz posted the photos on Instagram including several fun shots from inside of the stadium, including the one with a security guard.

Before his posting of the photos, he was shown in a video wearing a black baseball cap pulled tight to conceal his face as he and others race to enter the black Chevrolet Suburban. Songz is dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and carrying a red backpack.

Trey Songz found himself in the middle of an altercation with a police officer inside of the game, where Songz allegedly punched a cop and wrestled him into a headlock while the two men struggled.

According to reports, the altercation started after fans started heckling the singer in the stands. The Kansas City police say the issue stemmed from the singer refusing to wear a mask at his seat, which caused fans to complain.

Law enforcement says after security was unable to get him to comply, they called in police officers to deal with the situation. The ordeal was caught on video, and it’s clear the altercation escalated quickly, although it’s unclear who was the aggressor.

Trey Songz was eventually arrested for trespassing, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer, which is a felony.

A video of the incident surfaced on social media, which clearly shows Trey and the officer fighting in the stands. Unfortunately for the singer, the video also shows the punch and the headlock.

According to reports, the case has been sent to Jackson County Prosecutor who will review the situation for possible charges.

Attorney John P. O’Connor confirmed that Songz was released Monday morning, but declined to comment further until he had a chance to talk with prosecutors.
