Adekunle Temitope popularly known as ‘Small Doctor’ has been freed by the Court and police, as Court ruled that he had license to carry a gun, and after meeting the bail condition of two sureties with N5million bond each as set by the Court.
Adekumle Temitope and friends all regained their freedom barely 24hours after they were arrested along the popular Oshodi road by the Police for unlawful possession of firearms and their subsequent arraignment before a magistrate court at Ebute Meta in Lagos.
This case seems to be the fastest ever, as the Chief magistrate of the court, A. O. Komolafe, who ruled in favour of the artiste that he had licence to carry a gun, advised him and others arraigned alongside him to be of good behaviour, while cautioning them against causing a breach of public peace or disturbing the peace within or outside the community and Lagos State.
Similarly, the singer in a post on his twitter handle has acknowledged support from his fans over the development, and put up a reminder for his concert scheduled to hold this Sunday.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police Mr Edgal Imohimi only yesterday (Monday) confirmed his arrest while parading the musician along with three other persons.
Small Doctor was arrested on allegations that he threatened a Police officer who was on traffic duty along Oshodi, Lagos.
“It was alleged that some unknown men, four of them, in an unregistered green SUV had brought out a gun and threatened a policeman that if he does not leave the road, they will shoot him.
Believing that they were armed robbers, I sent out my men and fortunately, with the DPO in charge of Shogunle division, they were able to intercept them and the men were arrested and were brought down to the headquarters for interrogation.
It was then discovered that one of them is the same Adekunle Temitope, a.k.a. ‘Small Doctor’. They were arrested in possession of a functional rifle, cartridge and some of their personal belongings” Imohimi said
