Nigeria Records 1483 New Cases Of COVID-19

Nigeria has recorded 1483 new cases of the coronavirus, as Lagos which seems to be the epicentre of the spread of the virus, surprisingly did not record any new cases on Friday. It is possible that the data for Lagos State was not ready when this latest statement was published by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The latest figures published by the NCDC, sees Kaduna State recording the highest new confirmed cases, with 545.

According to the latest data released by the NCDC on Friday 22nd January 2021, there were 1483 new cases recorded across some states in Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory, as the total confirmed cases as at this date, hit 118,138.

The 1483 new cases recorded on Friday, as reported by NCDC on their official social media handle, were recorded in 23 States, including the FCT. The distribution of these numbers across these states, shows the following:

The NCDC also confirmed that so far, a total of 94, 150 patients have been discharged, with 1490 deaths recorded so far.
