The Nigerian Troops under the code name Operation Safe Heaven, and Operation Accord in continuation of intensive kinetic operations against armed bandits and other criminals in the North Central zone, have arrested a notorious cultist who is also an armed robber in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to the statement released on Wednesday 16th December 2020, by the Coordinator Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General John Enenche, stated that the troops in their sustained and aggressive posture against the criminal elements in the zones, apprehended the notorious cultist.

The General in his statement, said the successful arrest of the notorious cultist was as a result of a raid carried out on 14 December 2020, by troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN at his hideout at Rukuba road in Jos North LGA of Plateau state. 

The raid, which was conducted following actionable intelligence on the location of the hideout, led to the arrest of a notorious cultist and armed robber, one Mr Gideon Moses with 1 automatic pistol. 

It is worthy of mention that the suspect has been on the wanted list of security agencies for some time. 

The suspect is in custody undergoing further interrogation after which he will be handed over to the relevant prosecution agency for appropriate action,” he added.
