Cristiano Ronald has reacted to Juventus beating Barcelona in their last UEFA Champions League group game. The Portuguese made a post after the game, where he was urging his team mates to continue to play the way they did on Tuesday night. He said playing like that, they have nothing to fear until the end.
Cristiano Ronaldo who netted a brace via two penalties, taking to his official social media account, posted a dressing room photo of his Juventus teammates and himself, all in a joyous mood, with a caption that reads:
“Today we were a team of Champions! A true, strong and united family! Playing like this, we have nothing to fear until the end of the season… Let’s go!,” he said.
Cristiano Ronald stating further in his message, touched on his rivalry with Lionel Messi, especially during his time at Real Madrid. He said it is always great to return to Spain and to play at Catalunya, but always hard to play at Camp Nou. He said:
“Always great to return to Spain and to Catalunya, always hard to play in Camp Nou against one of the best teams I ever faced,” he added.
Cristiano Ronaldo who went up against his old rival in the LaLiga, Lionel Messi on Tuesday night in their UEFA Champions League group game came out top. He showed the world that he still has it in him, even at the age of 35. He netted two penalties to take his Champions League goal tally to 134.
Ronaldo sent Marc-Andre ter Stegen the wrong way after being fouled by Uruguay defender Ronald Araujo.
Juve doubled their lead through Weston McKennie’s bicycle kick before Ronaldo added a second with a penalty after Clement Lenglet handled.
It is Barcelona’s first defeat in a group game since 2016.
They started the day with a three-point cushion over Juve but finish second and will be unseeded in next Monday’s last-16 draw.
