The Nigeria Police Force has denied reports that its official Twitter handle shared a photoshop photo of arrested suspects. The Police said, rather the photo of the arrested suspects were merged with the arms recovered from them for a seamless understanding of the storyline.

The Nigeria Police Force refuted the claims of photoshop photo in a statement released on their official Twitter handle on Wednesday 2nd December 2020. The statement was accompanied with a short video of the Force Public Relations Officer, and Deputy Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba, addressing the allegations.

Frank Mba in the statement released, said:
The attention of The Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to comments in the social media erroneously suggesting that the photos of the suspects shared on the Police handles on 1st December 2020 were falsified.

The Force wishes to state categorically that there was absolutely no misrepresentation or any intention whatsoever to deceive members of the public,” he said.

Stating further, and giving full details of the arrested suspects, the Police Public Relation Officer, said:

To set the record straight, in the case involving one Talatu Ibrahim, female, 40years old from Shinkafi LGA, Zamfara State from whom six (6) AK49 rifles were recovered and one other, Duleji Alhaji Abubakar a.k.a Ori jeje who gets arms supply from her to carry out series of kidnapping and armed robbery in Kwara State. The pictures are authentic and true representation of the suspects and exhibits.

However, the pictures were taken separately and merged into one screen for seamless understanding of the storyline. The arms showcased in the picture were the exhibits recovered by Police operatives from the suspects,” the statement added.

Recall that we reported here only yesterday, that the Nigerian Twitter street had dragged the Nigeria Police Force for sharing an alleged Photoshopped image of suspects, and passed it as the real image.

While their shortcomings were spotted and called out, it took the Force almost 24hours to respond to the allegation, and somehow, confirming the allegation, with them using the word ‘merge’ instead of photoshop.

Well, if you have seen the image, as posted above, you can judge for yourself, as we are no experts in that field. lol…wahala for who photoshop photo for Nigeria Police oh…lol
