Adidas has unveiled Manchester United Home kit for their 2020/2021 season, as the fashion giants shared a series of photos showing some of the players in the new home jersey for a photoshoot.
The photoshoot was a promotional shoot, which featured first-team stars Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James, Scott McTominay and Brandon Williams.
The new Manchester United home kit was confirmed on Tuesday 4th August 2020, with a shirt design for next season with a striking red design which features black and yellow stitching across the front.
According to the statement released by Adidas, the new Manchester United home kit for their home games, was inspired by the famous United crest with the shirt detailing taking inspiration from the club’s famous logo in “a design reminiscent of the rippled threads on the backside of the badge.”
Explaining the unique inspiration for the design, an official press release from Adidas read: “Taking influence from the intricacies of the yarn-stitched application onto the shirt, a fine graphic print provides a unique pattern and detailing onto a colour-block background. The name of the club is also proudly engineered into the print, visible through the use of different red tones.
“The product team achieved this nuanced design through an innovative ‘space dye’ technique that allows separate yarns to be dyed individually, and at different lengths, to give a finish with depth, and with full details only viewable by the wearer.”
United will wear their new 2020/21 home kit for the first time when they resume their Europa League campaign at home to LASK Linz on Wednesday 5 August.
